About this Event
Join Registered Herbalist Dana Hutchinson, RH (AHG), for a dynamic and integrative class exploring natural immune resilience through the lens of Eastern medicine. Grounded in the foundational concepts of Qi (vital energy), Wei Qi (protective energy), and seasonal attunement, this class combines movement, plant medicine, and nourishment strategies to strengthen the body’s natural defenses. Dana will guide participants through gentle, immunity-focused Qi Gong practices designed to circulate Qi, reduce stagnation, and support the lungs—our first line of defense in traditional Chinese medicine. These practices will be complemented by a discussion of herbal allies traditionally used at the Wildflower Clinic, to fortify Wei Qi, reduce inflammation, and support long-term vitality. The class also includes a food-and-herb-as-medicine component, focusing on functional nutrition principles and energetically appropriate foods and botanicals to align with the body's immune rhythm throughout the seasons. Whether you're looking to prevent illness, recover more quickly, or build lasting vitality, this class offers a holistic toolkit to enhance your body’s natural intelligence and restore energetic balance. This class includes an educational handout and is ideal for herbalists, wellness practitioners, and anyone seeking a deeper connection to immune health through time-honored Eastern frameworks.
Dana Hutchinson, MA, RH (AHG), BCMH, is the practice owner and lead medical herbalist at the Wildflower Clinic, a traditional Chinese medicine, Western clinical herbalism, and energetic healing health center in Golden, Colorado. As a registered herbalist with the American Herbalist Guild (AHG), Dana specializes in complex chronic autoimmune conditions, long-term inflammatory presentations, and complex emotional trauma cases. Dana’s clinical approach toward understanding and addressing the underlying triggers of a condition stems from her first-hand experience with managing her own "uncurable" autoimmune illness, Lichen Sclerosus (LS), finding remission, and helping over 500 + women reach immune system homeostasis today. Dana has extensive training in TCM diagnostic assessment, where she interprets the tongue, pulse, nails, and skin of her clients in order to find underlying root imbalances. She is a faculty member at Herbal Academy and the Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism, in addition to being a regular conference presenter at IHS, AHG, Good Medicine, and more. Dana’s lineage descends from AAIP with a Hawaiian-Chinese heritage, and in her free time, she enjoys hiking, backcountry skiing, and lying in the sun!
