About this Event

Discover the art of natural dyeing in this hands-on fibre arts workshop at The Village at Black Creek. Perfect for knitters, crocheters, weavers, spinners, and fibre enthusiasts, this beginner-friendly class will introduce you to the fundamentals of dyeing natural fibres using non-toxic dyes and traditional techniques.

Hosted by PH1 Studios and Toronto Art Club, this warm and creative workshop explores the fascinating world of colour, wool, and sustainable craft. Participants will learn how different fibres absorb colour, the role of mordants and weak acid dyes, and how to create custom colour blends for beautiful hand-dyed yarn.

As part of this unique experience, you'll even work with sheep's wool sourced from the sheep living at The Village at Black Creek, connecting directly to the heritage traditions of wool production and textile making.

Each participant will dye their own custom wool samples to take home, creating a one-of-a-kind material ready for knitting, crochet, weaving, or future fibre art projects.
