About this Event
Create a spectrum of rich pinks, reds, and purples in our next Natural Dye Workshop!
Join us as we explore the magic of natural color using cochineal and logwood, two remarkable dyes known for producing everything from soft rosy pinks to deep carmine reds and luminous purples.
This workshop is a wonderful introduction to more advanced natural dyeing techniques and is perfect for anyone curious about working with natural dyes, using solvents in the dye process, or simply wanting more hands-on experience.
Together we’ll work with two dye substances:
- Logwood to create beautiful purple tones
- Cochineal to produce shades from delicate pink to rich carmine red
You’ll learn foundational techniques, experiment with color variation, and gain confidence working with these fascinating natural dyes.
A magical class for spinners, knitters, weavers, dyers, and anyone captivated by color.
Supplies needed:
- 2 skeins of undyed protein or cellulose yarn- one for each color. You can also bring a scarf or cloth to dye!We carry a great selection of undyed yarn in store and are happy to help you choose the perfect base.
