Natural Dye Workshop: Ceremony x Underground Hues

Workshop participants will learn about the natural dye process to achieve hues of yellows, oranges, and rust tones with marigolds and iron mordant. There will be an initial dip into a pre-reduced vat of marigold, followed by time to design an ecoprint overlay on the dip-dyed garment. Participants will personalize a pre-selected cold weather garment with plant matter, aka eco-printing. Participants will leave class with their own hand dyed garment to sport in the changing season or to gift for the holidays, and literature (designed by Mecca Lewis) on natural dye.
