Natural Art Workshop with Artist Diana Green

There are 2 workshops available to book, you can book either or both! Both workshops start at 10.30am and finish at 3.30pm. Tickets are £55 per day, with a £10 discount if you book both days.

You can also book an overnight stay at Shining Cliff hostel on the 15th, 16th & 17th October to give yourself a wonderful self-care experience of woodland immersion for just £20 per night.

Wednesday 16th October: Start the workshop with a woodland walk with Diana, learning about what natural resources to look for to create your own mark making tools. Diana will guide you through the processes of making your own mark making tools and after sharing a campfire lunch together, you will have time in the woods to paint using your tools.

Thursday 17th October: Spend an immersive day in the woods, starting with a Shinrin-Yoku forest bathing session led by Kate, a Forest Bathing Guide; to help us really slow down in nature, relax and take notice of our surroundings. Diana will then guide you on how make your own natural inks. We will have a shared campfire lunch before having a go at making charcoal on the campfire and trying out some eco-printing.

Location: The hostel is located off-road in the heart of Shining Cliff woods near Ambergate in Derbyshire, and is only accessible by foot along uneven and sloping woodland footpaths. The hostel car park is a half mile walk from the hostel along a woodland footpath. Both workshops will start at 1030am, meeting at the hostel car park and directions will be emailed in your booking confirmation.

We need to have a minimum of 7 participants to afford to run each workshop. If there are less than 7 participants we will refund your ticket price.

Occasionally a session is cancelled at short notice due to high winds/thunderstorms forecast. If the session is cancelled for weather conditions you will be fully refunded.

On booking the workshop you will receive a confirmation email and a link to the directions for the session. Please follow these directions if you have not been to the hostel before, as satnav will take you to the wrong side of the woods.

If you need to cancel your place on the workshop, the ticket price will be refunded if it is more than 14 days before the workshop, but if it is 14 days or fewer, the ticket price will not be refunded unless your place is filled.

It is possible to extend your experience in this stunning woodland by booking a bed at the hostel for just £20 per night. To book your room please reply 'yes' to the overnight option in the booking questions and Kate will get in touch with you to arrange payment and send your Welcome Pack.

The hostel has 5 bedrooms available, all with bunk beds. You can request a room to yourself, or if you are booking with friends, there are 2-bed, 4-bed and 6-bed rooms available to book.

The hostel is fully heated, has 3 bathrooms with showers, a fully equiped self-catering kitchen, lounge and dining room, plus a stunning fire pit to enjoy in the evening!
