Some wines need explaining. These don't — but the stories behind them are worth hearing.

Kristinus from the hills above Lake Balaton, Taferner from Carnuntum just east of Vienna. Two producers, both farming organically and sustainably, both making wines that carry a clear sense of where they come from. Four of their wines come together for one evening at Neighbor.

On the table: skin-contact and natural styles — including Taferner's Grüner Veltliner Natural, spontaneously fermented with 24 hours of maceration, zero sulphur added, and six months on full lees. And Kristinus, Hungary's largest certified biodynamic estate, whose orange wines ferment in amphora and barrels with weeks of skin contact.

The Neighbor team guides the tasting — through the producers, the regions, the decisions made in the vineyard and the cellar. Snacks are paired alongside. The format is informal. The wines do the talking.

Kristinus von den Hügeln südlich des Balatons, Taferner aus dem Carnuntum, direkt östlich von Wien. Zwei Produzenten, beide bio-organisch und nachhaltig im Weinberg, beide mit einer klaren Herkunft im Glas. Vier ihrer Weine kommen für einen Abend bei Neighbor zusammen.

Auf dem Tisch: maischevergoren und naturbelassen — darunter Taferners Grüner Veltliner Natural, spontan vergoren mit 24 Stunden Maischestandzeit, ohne Schwefelzusatz, sechs Monate auf der Vollhefe. Und Kristinus, Ungarns größtes Demeter-zertifiziertes Weingut, dessen Orange Wines in Amphoren und Fässern mit wochenlangem Schalenkontakt entstehen.

Das Neighbor Team führt durch die Verkostung — durch die Produzenten, die Regionen, die Entscheidungen im Weinberg und im Keller. Dazu passende Snacks. Das Format ist entspannt, der Rahmen bewusst klein gehalten. Rund 20 Personen. Die Weine sprechen für sich.
