“THE NATIVITY” CASTING DAYWe are excited to announce our Casting Day for DFJ’s Christmas production, "The Nativity''. Participants must be current DFJ students, ages 3-18, and enrolled in a class at our Bellingham or Lynden campuses at the time of casting. Participants will take a 30 minute ballet class. All dancers who come to the Casting Day will be given a role.
2024 Nativity Casting Times
SATURDAY, September 28th at DFJ BELLINGHAM
3 year olds 9:30 - 10:00
4 year olds 10:00 - 10:30
5 year olds 10:30 - 11:00
6 year olds 11:00 - 11:30
7 year olds 11:30 - 12:00
8 year olds 12:30 - 1:00
9 year olds 1:00 - 1:30
10 - 11 year olds 1:30 - 2:00
12 - 18 year olds 2:00 - 2:30
-Students MUST ENROLL ONLINE through their JackRabbit Account. A casting questionnaire will be part of the enrollment process.
-$115 performance fee due at the time of audition. The performance fee includes their costume, a video download of the show (a link to the recording will be sent out after the show), and misc. rehearsal/admin. fees. Please note that tickets are NOT included in this fee. Families will need to purchase their own tickets through the Mount Baker Theater. Tickets go on sale November 1st.
-Please keep in mind a few things before you choose to participate-
1. Make sure your child can attend the following required events:
December 8, 2024- Dress Rehearsal at Mt. Baker Theatre
*December 9, 2024- Performance at Mt. Baker Theatre
*December 10, 2024- Performance at Mt. Baker Theatre
*Dancers may perform in either one or both shows, depending on age and number of dancers at casting day.
2. Rehearsals will be on Saturdays at our Bellingham Campus - Please review the rehearsal dates below.
-Rehearsals will be on Saturdays between the times of 9am-1pm.
-Rehearsal time slots are 30-75 minutes, depending on role.
-The Saturday rehearsal schedule will be announced when roles are announced, typically the Monday after Casting Day.
-All dancers must attend all rehearsals. If you can not attend a rehearsal you can make it up by doing a private lesson, if the instructor feels that is needed. Private lessons are $30/30min.
