Native Voices on the Page
About this Event
Native poetry is living, contemporary, and worth celebrating. Join us at the Center for Native Arts + Cultures on November 6 for an evening of poetry and conversation honoring the release of Kara Briggs’ new collection, You and I and Spilyáy.
Briggs (Sauk-Suiattle and Yakama descendant) will be joined by Ursula Pike (Karuk) and Joan Naviyuk Kane (Iñupiaq, 2013 NACF National Artist Fellow), who will share readings of their own work. Together, these three Native authors bring distinct voices and perspectives to an evening of shared stories and community conversation.
Come listen, ask questions, and connect with the writers and their work. Books will be available for purchase directly from the authors, with opportunities for signing.
Free and open to all.
