What is seed stratification?? Many native seeds (and some non-native) require a period of time below a certain temperature in order to germinate. By providing this time period, you are stratifying your seeds.
In this class, you will plant native seeds into milk-jugs to create mini-greenhouses. You will store these jugs outside throughout the winter. In spring, after they germinate and establish roots, you can transplant them to larger pots or directly into the ground.
We will also offer a follow-up class to up-pot your baby plants and an optional plant exchange with other participants! Date TBD.
**Please bring TWO semi-translucent gallon jugs, such as a milk, water, or tea jug, to the class.
Class Registration Fee is $5 per person or family. Registration will be limited to 15 participants.
