Native Gardens, a contemporary comedy written by Karen Zacarías, is a play centered around two neighboring couples: a well-established white couple, the Butley’s, and a young Latino couple, the Del Valle’s, who are just starting out. When the two families clash over a property line dispute and their differing views on landscaping, tensions rise, revealing deeper themes of class, culture, and privilege.
