Puppetry, magic and storytelling combine in a unique, Olivier Award-winning stage adaptation of the best-selling novel.After a cargo ship sinks in the middle of the vast Pacific Ocean, a 16-year-old boy named Pi is stranded on a lifeboat with four other survivors – a hyena, a zebra, an orangutan and a Royal Bengal tiger. Time is against them, nature is harsh, who will survive?
Filmed live in London’s West End and featuring state-of-the-art visuals, the epic journey of endurance and hope is bought to life in a breath-taking new way for cinemas screens.
National Theatre Live brings the best of the British stage to cinemas around the world. The plays are filmed in front of a live theater audience, but optimized for the big screen, so it is the next best thing to being there. The actors on stage deliver their performances as they normally would any other night, but to make sure everyone watching in a cinema has the best seat in the house, the position of the cameras is tailored to capture each production. Filmmakers work closely with technical teams to make sure every element on stage such as lighting, hair and make-up look fantastic on the big screen.

Film Start Time: Doors open at 2:00pm, and the film will begin promptly at 3:00pm. As our films are general admission seating, please be sure to arrive early to secure your seat. Beer, wine, and concessions will be available.
Free Parking:
We’re pleased to offer complimentary parking for all attendees. Simply bring your parking ticket from the library parking lot (across from the Main Library on Rock Street) or the parking deck (next to the Main Library on Rock Street) inside the theater, and our friendly box office staff will validate it for you. Validations are for paid ticket holders only.
