About this Event
Join Friends of the National Arboretum for a family-friendly celebration of National Public Lands Day at the Washington Youth Garden on Saturday, September 28th from 11 AM to 1 PM. This event is hosted in partnership with the National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF), USDA Forest Service, and U.S. National Arboretum.
This event will feature a variety of activities, including honey tastings, garden tours, scavenger hunts, a chance to meet Woodsy Owl, and more! The following partners will host activities:
- National Environmental Education Foundation
- USDA Forest Service
- Buffalo Soldiers
- Corazon Latino
We'll kick off the day with a brief welcome, followed by ample time to explore and enjoy the garden. Also, be there at noon for a surprise sweet treat!

This event is free and open to participants of all ages. Please register to let us know you're coming!
Interested in getting your hands dirty? We are also hosting a from 9 AM to 12 PM. We also offer volunteer hours every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday morning through mid-November. All volunteers must complete our volunteer interest form.
