National Press Club Headliners: Congressman Don Bacon
About this Event
Join Congressman Don Bacon for a Headliners coffee and conversation on Thursday, November 19 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the National Press Club.
Congressman Don Bacon represents Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. A retired U.S. Air Force Brigadier General, he served nearly 30 years on active duty and commanded two of the Air Force’s largest installations, Ramstein Air Base in Germany and Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska. During his nearly 10 years in Congress, he has drawn on that experience in his work on national security, veterans’ issues, agriculture, and cybersecurity, and his office has been recognized as among the most effective and bipartisan in Congress. Congressman Bacon currently serves on the House Armed Services Committee and the House Agriculture Committee and chairs the Armed Services Subcommittee on Cyber, Information Technologies, and Innovation.
Bacon isn't seeking another term in office. He has stated in recent weeks that he “would love to” run for president or would “be happy to be the right-hand man or left-hand man to someone else that has the same values.”
The Headliners event begins with remarks from Representative Bacon at 3:00 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session ending at 4:00 p.m. Credentialed media and National Press Club members may attend at no cost. To submit a question in advance for the speaker, put NEBRASKA in the subject line and email it to [email protected].
