About this Event
Birmingham City University is proud to host the 4th National Maternity Support Worker (MSW) Conference on 25th November 2026.
After the success of the last three years, BCU is excited to offer this conference once again. During this time, the event has provided meaningful opportunities for learning and upskilling, with some attendees seeing their development come to fruition and others feeling inspired to pursue further growth within their MSW role.
Inclusivity remains central to the conference, which is designed for anyone wishing to deepen their understanding of the MSW role and celebrate its value within maternity services. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in sessions delivered by a range of healthcare professionals who bring extensive experience and insight into the MSW profession.
This unique conference reflects BCU’s ongoing commitment to the development and sustainability of the MSW role. Participants will be able to attend a variety of informative and engaging sessions, network with colleagues, meet organisations at exhibition stands, share good practice, and view academic posters developed by MSW apprentices at Birmingham City University.
We are pleased to have been able to reduce the ticket cost this year to make the conference more accessible to all who wish to attend. This reduction is possible as we are no longer including lunch within the price. A wide range of food outlets are available in the building, offering options to suit diverse dietary requirements and attendees are welcome to bring their own lunch if preferred.
Topics include:
- Health promotion in the MSW role
- Birthrate Plus and the consideration of the MSW role in maternity staffing
- Diabetes care
- Bereavement care
- Specialist training for MSWs in neonatal care
- Infant feeding
Conference objectives:
- Celebrate the vital role of the MSW
