About this Event

A joint event organised by the UCL Institute for Global Health and UCL Anthropocene as part of the Emergence | Emergency series.

The climate & nature crisis threatens all aspects of British life from national security to food supply, but solutions exist.

The National Emergency Briefing was commissioned to present the latest evidence, and build an irresistible call for the Government to stage a televised emergency briefing, the essential first step towards the WW2-scale response now required.

At this event we will be screening a new film from the National Emergency Briefing - a public information initiative to ensure the UK is fully briefed on the climate and nature crisis.

It presents the national implications of climate and nature breakdown - along with credible, positive responses - in a single, accessible account designed for screening in communities across the UK.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion led by Hugh Montgomery ( Director of UCL Centre for Human Health, co-lead Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Change) and Professor Paul Behrens (British Academy Global Professor, University of Oxford).

After the panel there will be a chance for further discussion over drinks with a networking event to build climate crisis collaborations.

Catering will be provided.
