We are reaching out to invite you to join us for a ceremony commemorating the victims of the Polytechnique massacre and recognizing The International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. The École Polytechnique Massacre, also known as the Montreal massacre, was a mass shooting that occurred on December 6, 1989, at the École Polytechnique de Montréal in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Fourteen women were murdered in the anti-feminist attack. This ceremony will take place on Friday December 5th, 2025, at 12:15 PM in front of the Golden Post Office. We will honour the memory of the 14 women who lost their lives by displaying 14 pairs of shoes, each accompanied by a rose and a candle. The ceremony will include a reading of their names, reflections from several speakers, and an opportunity for us to come together as a community.
Following the ceremony, we invite you to share in warm drinks and conversation, fostering connections and collaboration in our efforts to end violence against women.
