National Day of Ghost Hunting 2026: Cordova Inn
About this Event
Spooky season is back, and what better way to kick it off than with the National Day of Ghost Hunting. This is the 10th anniversary of the holiday, and the SPIRITS of St. Petersburg has participated in all of them. This year, we are pleased to team with Pages & Perks bookstore and the Cordova Inn to check out one of the most historic haunts in the area.
The Cordova was built in 1921 as the Hotel Scott, but gained the attention of visitors from Michigan, the Cordova family, who purchased the site in 1923. They brought their majordomo, an unnamed Frenchman, to run the hotel. He loved the place so much that after his death, his spirit lingered on forever, watching over the property. The problem: his name is lost to history. Come with us to see if we can find out who he is and why he stays. Reports also tell us that he is not alone – an energetic woman runs frantically on the first floor, and anomalous energy resides on the third floor.
This year’s event falls on a full moon. Participants will work with SPIRITS members in smaller groups, meeting at Pages & Perks for a brief paranormal 101, and then tour the old section of the hotel. The two most haunted rooms in the hotel are also set aside for group investigation.
There are two time slots available: 6 - 8, and 8:15 - 10:15, limited to 10 people per session. Participants will be encouraged to share their experiences at the end of each session, review their recordings, and submit findings to the SPIRITS of St. Petersburg for inclusion on the website. Tickets are $30 per person, plus tax and fees. Ages 14 and up. Miners must be accompanied by an adult.
