The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a day for solemn remembrance and reflection. The BCEIA joins fellow British Columbians in commemorating the tragic history and impact of residential schools and in doing so, pause to reflect on what reconciliation really means. We are committed to learning more about the concrete actions we can take from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada.

In partnership with the BC Environmental Film Festival, please join us for this special
screening of The Spirit Who Swims, a 2024 BC Environmental Film Festival selection.
Greg Witzky, Operations Manager for the Fraser Salmon Management Council and
Indigenous Project Director on the Big Bar Landslide remediation response team, will
be on hand to discuss the film and the work of the Columbia River Salmon
Reintroduction Initiative. Proceeds support the BCEIA's Annual Indigenous
Scholarship Program.

The Spirit Who Swims
A love manifesto to Salmon foregrounding its spiritual and material importance to
Indigenous peoples along the Fraser River, and an urgent call to rethink our relationship
with the natural world. (55:45)
