Experience DC in Full Bloom—Without the Parking Hassle!

Celebrate the arrival of spring with a spectacular trip to the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC! Join your FMWR community for a provisional "Save the Date" excursion to the Tidal Basin to witness thousands of iconic cherry trees in breathtaking full bloom.

With over 1.5 million people visiting the festival each year, navigating downtown DC traffic and finding parking near the monuments is notoriously difficult. Let us do the driving! We will drop you off right near the action so you can spend a beautiful, self-paced day exploring the blossoms, the Tidal Basin, and the national memorials.

Our Spring Journey

7:00 AM- Depart InstallationBoard our comfortable ride for an early departure to beat the heavy DC festival traffic.

9:30 AM – 3:00 PM-Tidal Basin & National Mall Free Time! Enjoy a self-paced walk under the blossoms. Explore the Jefferson Memorial, MLK Memorial, and FDR Memorial, and take part in festival events around the Tidal Basin.

3:00 PM- Depart Washington, DC Meet back at our designated pickup spot. Load into the vehicle for a relaxing ride home while we navigate the afternoon traffic.

5:30 PM- Arrive at Installation Arrive back safely. Tour concludes!

Please Note: The date of Saturday, March 27, 2027, is currently a placeholder!

Mother Nature ultimately decides when the flowers bloom. We base our final trip date on the official "Peak Bloom" predictions released by the National Park Service in late winter. If the peak bloom shifts, we may adjust the date slightly to ensure you get the absolute best views!

🎒 Festival Pro-Tips & What to Bring

• Be Ready for Crowds: This is DC's biggest annual event! Expect very heavy foot traffic along the Tidal Basin pathways.
• Comfortable Walking Shoes: You will easily log several miles walking around the Tidal Basin and to the various monuments. Good sneakers are a must!
• Pack Snacks & Water: While there are usually food trucks and festival vendors nearby, lines can be very long. Bringing a backpack with bottled water and snacks is highly recommended to maximize your sightseeing time.
• Check the Weather: Late March in DC can be anything from warm and sunny to chilly and breezy. Dress in comfortable spring layers.
