About this Event
Celebrating National Aunties and Uncles Day: July 26th
Join The Aunties Room and The Uncles Room for our 5th Annual Picnic in the Park as we come together to celebrate National Aunties and Uncles Day on Sunday, July 26, 2026, from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Yaupon Place Park, located at 1313 Westwood Ave, Richmond, VA 23227.
This year’s theme, “Give Aunties and Uncles Their Flowers,” is a heartfelt tribute to the aunties, uncles, bonus aunties, village keepers, caregivers, mentors, and loved ones who show up with love, wisdom, protection, laughter, and care. These are the people who help raise, nurture, guide, encourage, and pour into the next generation — often without asking for anything in return.
This picnic is more than an event. It is a celebration of the village.
Bring the whole crew and join us for a beautiful afternoon filled with community, connection, music, good food, amazing vendors, flowers, and family-friendly fun. Together, we are creating space to honor the people who uplift us, support us, and remind us that love is a legacy.
Guests can expect delicious eats from local vendors, a curated vendor market, great music, picnic-style activities, and the opportunity to create your own flower bouquet . It will be a serene, joyful, and celebratory picnic experience designed to give flowers while they can still be smelled.
