About this Event
The National Animal Rights Day (NARD) is an annual day observed in over 200 countries around the world on the same day, for the purpose of giving a voice to all animals and raising awareness for their rights.
This year will be the first time that we as the VSL joins forces with the non-profit organization “Our planet. Theirs too." to organize a NARD in Luxembourg.
The goal of the NARD is:
- to commemorate the billions of animals who suffer every day by human hands ;
- to educate the public about the cruelty-free, plant-based alternatives ; and
- to celebrate the progress that is being made towards ending the suffering of animals.
We will hold a silent commemoration for the animals that have suffered under humanity’s treatment of animals, by standing still for a while and holding up photos of some of these individuals. The same is done in many other cities worldwide.
After the ceremony, we will celebrate with a get together and lots of vegan food.
When? Sunday, 4th June 2023, from 2 p.m.
Where? Luxembourg City center, exact location to be confirmed.
For whom? All animal lovers.
A more detailed plan of the event will be published soon on our Facebook event page, so keep an eye out on our ‘Vegan Society Luxembourg’ page.
To be visible to the public, it would be great if many people would wear the official NARD shirts. So if you would like to join us on the NARD, please reserve a free ticket via Eventbrite as soon as possible so that we will have a rough idea of how many t-shirts to pre-order
Price: 15€ (10€ for students)
The t-shirts can be paid in advance to our bank account, or via bank card/cash on the day of the event. You will be notified the details via e-mail at a later stage.
The revenue of the shirts will be used to cover the price of the shirts and organizational fees of the event. The rest will be donated to “Our planet. Theirs too.”.
If you do not wish to purchase a shirt, we’d appreciate if you could be dressed in all black on that day.
“Our planet. Theirs too.” is a non-profit organization from the U.S. with a vision for humans and animals to share this planet in peace and harmony. They are promoting the idea that animals should have the same basic rights as humans to live free from abuse and oppression, and believe in the vegan lifestyle as a part of the solution to end animal suffering.
