Nathan Paul bio:
Nathan-Paul grew up a pastor’s son from Cleveland, and knows how to deliver sound medicine to the people. His velvety Lo-Fi sounds are a vibe-heavy soul party, fusing modern trap, 70s funk, and fiery Southern gospel. He writes for pure enjoyment. “The way I go about writing, I’m like extreme Southern hospitality. I’ll always have something for you. I won’t let you leave until you take something with you.” he said. Singing choir by age 5, Nathan is a multi-instrumentalist specializing in saxophone and flute, as well as production and composition. Though he may defy genre constructs, Nathan-Paul is a Jazz Studies graduate from the University of Akron, and is improvising all the time - influenced by greats Charlie Parker, Sonny Rollins, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Louis Armstrong.
Nathan-Paul was the music director for Colmine recording artist Wesley Bright & The Honeytones, during which time he contributed toward arrangements and songwriting, and opened for bands including War, Tower Of Power, Lee Fields, and Charles Bradley. Written for Bright, Nathan’s song ‘Happiness’ earned him a placement with Nike Skateboard.
The artist’s newest project, Nathan-Paul and the Admirables, brings an aggressive, rock-edge to his sound medicine. This project that focuses on energy over notes has already led a successful tour with Moon Hooch and a performance backing soul-giant Dwele.
C-level bio:
C-level is a high-energy three-piece band with a unique blend of funk, punk, reggae, bluegrass and rock. Their exhilarating sound is driven by the philosophy "Honest Self-Expression is the Path to Good Music" (George F. Hartwig), and that only through music can we surround hate and force it to surrender to the reality of love.
C-level began when Dave (Ziggy) Deitke (guitar, throat) met Coda Crose (bass) at an open mic night in North Olmsted. Upon playing together the two found a sweet sound that could only be produced by their musical union and shared passion for the melding of many diverse musical styles. The two then began to play in various projects around North Ridgeville and Olmsted. One of them being Aberration which featured Dave and Coda both on bass and guitar, periodically during their sets they would switch instruments.
Throughout their journey C-Level has gone through a few line change ups as well as gaining a few new members, continually changing and adding a new dynamic. C-Level is Dave Ziggy Deitke guitar and throat, Coda Crose Bass, and Pat Boland Drums.
Uptown Buddha bio:
Originating from Cleveland, Ohio, this dynamic and diverse 5-to-8 piece live instrument hip-hop group sees no boundaries between the languages of neo-soul, hip-hop, jazz and the jam band scene. The band is active with regular live band performances while cooking up new tunes with a range of flavors in the studio.
The band is comprised of childhood friends and friends of friends who've found their way to each other, each contributing to the band's blend of musical languages. With members now spread across the globe and thanks to modern connectivity, the band can write and record in Cleveland while collaborating between Ohio and Israel.
An Uptowne Buddha performance is an experience you don’t want to miss: you are sure to be up on your feet, experiencing a wide range of sounds that will leave a lasting impression.
