Ten years of underground music, community, experimentation, and unforgettable nights inside a small room that grew into something far bigger than we ever imagined...Long before opening the venue, City was already taking shape through the people who believed in Ottawa’s electronic music culture and pushed it forward with passion, creativity, and persistence. What followed was never simply about opening a nightclub... it became a platform. A place where DJs, promoters, and artists could build something together.Over the past decade, City has hosted everything from intimate late-night sessions and legendary festival afterparties to international DJs performing in one of the most intimate settings in North America. At the same time, it became a launching point for local event series and communities, many of which are still thriving today, some expanding into larger spaces throughout the city and beyond. The journey was never linear. There were moments of uncertainty, growing pains, and times where the future of the space genuinely felt fragile. The 17-month pandemic shutdown tested everything we had built. But what carried City through every chapter was the community around it... the people who continued to show up, support culture, and believe that spaces like this matter.
This anniversary is not simply about celebrating a venue. It’s about celebrating a decade of shared memories, risks taken, friendships formed, and the pursuit of something authentic. To everyone who played a role... whether behind the decks, behind the bar, behind the scenes, or on the dance floor... thank you for helping shape what City at Night became.

To mark a decade of unforgettable moments on the dancefloor, White Rabbit Ottawa is hosting a special anniversary weekend takeover. We're excited to bring back a favourite artist of ours who has been with us since Year 1, one of Canada's top international exports:

Born out of the Toronto underground clubbing scene, Nathan Barato holds a firm place as one of the most sought after names in the industry. Masterfully blending house and techno, his unmistakable sound has opened doors to residencies with Music On and Paradise as well as securing bookings at a long list of top clubs across the globe.
His no holds barred attitude to production has seen him drop dynamite releases on a diverse range of prestigious labels including Hot Creations, Hottrax, Relief, Saved Records and many more. Yet, Nathan still finds time to spearhead his own imprint RAWthentic alongside Carlo Lio, signing heavy-hitting records with a unique gritty edge.
