About this Event
It's my first album release in F*VE YEARS
I'll be celebrating and singing the songs (and covers that inspired them) in a beautiful old church in Brooklyn. Bring your dancing shoes, and maybe a Kleenex.
We'll have a holiday pop-up shop from female-owned local biz, a drive to support local women in need (please bring items listed HERE), flowers from Bloom Again Brooklyn, wine from Macari Vineyards, and more.
______________
ME*T NATALIE H*RT
The Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter with a big voice. She's part spirited synth-pop storyteller, part jazz-slinging siren — and she bares it all (emotionally - she is usually wearing several layers of velvet and/or feathers).
Hailing from the land of big hair and bigger dreams—Dallas, Texas—Natalie’s music came of age in Nashville and found it’s home in New York City - 10 years strong.
Natalie’s debut project Curtains (2019 - recorded at Smoakstack Studios and mixed by Greg Wells (Adele, Rufus Wainright, etc.)) set the stage, drawing listeners into her world of dramatic introspection with lyrics written in the margins of her college textbooks. She supported the album on a 14 city tour with Sofar Sounds that took her everywhere from Seattle to Manchester, UK.
Almost 5 years later, her latest EP F* UR LETTER W *RD (recorded in NYC and at The Bomb Shelter with Andrija Tokic (Alabama Shakes, Langhorne Slim)) ups the ante, diving headfirst into the complicated, messy, and beautiful relationship women have with their bodies. Spoiler alert: this one’s for the G*RLs (all are welcome to listen, of course).
With musical influences like Nina Simone, Nick Cave, and Kimbra, Natalie’s sound is a delicious blend of jazz, indie, and pop that’ll have you dancing one minute and staring into the void the next (sorry).
Natalie lives and writes songs in a extravagantly DIY-ed Brooklyn rental that looks like an old French bordello with zero pets but a lot of feather boas.
As she gears up for a new release, she’s got one mission: to leave you feeling something RE*L. Preferably while tappin’ those toes.
