Friday 24th of March. Doors open 19:30 Concert starts at 20:00.
Accordion, Fiddle, Flute and Guitar play intricate and absorbing arrangements of new and old tunes, inspired by traditional dance tune forms.
Inspired by the driving grooves of British Folk Musics and the twisting flow of European Bal, Cormorant is a beguiling mix of Jigs, Three-Two Hornpipes, Mazurkas and more. Each tune is thoughtfully arranged for Accordion, Fiddle, Flute and Guitar in compositions that are both mesmerizing and uplifting.
Nat is joined by: Deb Chalmers on Fiddles (Stepling, Folk Dance Remixed) Sam Partridge on Flute (Pons Aelius, The Rachel Hamer Band and director of the National Youth Folk Ensemble) Tom Evans on guitar (Understory, Climax Ceilidh Band)
Nat grew up in Suffolk, left to study music in York and now lives on a Narrowboat on the Grand Union Canal. Nat's charismatic phrasing and compelling harmonies create a rich tapestry of interweaving melodies and harmonic countermelodies. Her style is distinctive but versatile. She is passionate about playing and writing music for dance.
