Upcoming workshop ‘Narrative Therapy Approaches to Trauma’
This workshop introduces and explores concepts and techniques of the Narrative Therapy approach (of Michael White and David Epston) to working with families and family members who have experienced trauma.
On completion of this workshop, you will be able to describe and begin to apply narrative therapy techniques of:
• ‘Double listening’, i.e. simultaneously listening for both the effects of trauma and the client’s responses to trauma
• Externalising the effects of trauma
• Eliciting and highlighting a person’s responses to trauma
• Building the person’s preferred story with their responses
