We warmly invite you to attend the official launch of HUM:Global, University of Copenhagen at the one-day conference, Narrating Global Conflict with a keynote lecture by 2022 Booker Prize Winner, Shehan Karunatilaka.
This public conference seeks to explore and connect how different professions narrate conflicts across time and space. It takes artistic expressions, personal accounts, and academic and professional analysis equally seriously. We do this both to unpack the innate qualities they possess as practices of sensemaking, and how they blend across a digitized, globalized interactive space to create sustained tropes of conflict and resolution in our time.
Our aim is to sustain a dialogue between perspectives on global conflict at a historical moment when professional compartmentalization, ideological schisms and political naming and shaming risk tearing apart the critical, free, frank and interrogative exchange that universities are meant to lift.
We have a full day of events incorporating research, journalism, literature, poetry and film planned, so please check out the program and register for the individual parts or the whole day.
We look forward to seeing you there!
