We will be holding our weekly event Tuesday May 21st at 7:00 PM at 402 Riverside Dr, Napa, CA 94559This meet and greet will be to discuss our Co-op buying program. The Co-op buying program consists of a membership that buys meats, seafood, produce and other products wholesale, in bulk, cuts, wraps, seals them for our own use and the use of our members.
We will have 2 levels of memberships to start
1. Working Member - Every working Co-op Member is required to pay a $25 membership fee and provide 4 hours of Co-op Business Work. They are responsible for breaking down, cutting, packing, and processing of all their own products. We will do this by holding classes, these classes will have a fee associated with any professional teaching them how to break down these food products. Once they learn they still have the choice to attend future classes, to break down meat or process food products for there and the general members.
2.(Future) General Member - No hour’s allocation. The general membership is designed to be easily transferred over to the farm general membership. General members pay $25 a month. Members will pay a mark-up on product costs. The goal of the Co-op's mark-up is to provide products at less than the local big chain markets would charge and provide better products. A product that is purchased locally, sold locally, where any profits are spent locally, on equipment for a better product. Members will be able to buy any product the co-op creates. We will begin our general membership when we have enough members to facilitate orders.
We will have cut and packaging events every week. Events where we order a product like meat, bring the meat in in primals, teach cutting and packaging of this meat for our members and breakdown, cut, package, cook other products for General Members.
After the Buying Membership we will discuss the future of our Farm Co-op plan. Meeting have been lasting 30-45 minutes. We are less than a month away from our first meat cutting night.
We ask you to talk to three people about this Co-op. Our buying power only grows with members, Our prices get lower and our access to better products gets greater.
