Abstract: The convergence of nanotechnology, artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and applied machine/deep learning is revolutionizing the fields of photonics, energy, and biological applications. This talk will explore the transformative potential of these advanced technologies when integrated to address complex challenges and create innovative solutions.
In the realm of photonics, we will examine how nanotechnology enables the manipulation of light at the nanoscale, leading to breakthroughs in optical imaging, sensing, nanoantenna, photonic devices, and photovoltaic solar cells.
Initially, we will talk about the fundamentals of nanophotonics/plasmonics/metamaterial and its application in several applications. One of the prominent applications is thin film (Silicon and Group II-V based solar cells) and metasurface-based single and multijunction solar cells. We will discuss solar cell design consideration, and few of the examples with record efficiency.
Later, we will go over plasmonic/metamaterial and metasurface-based surface plasmon resonance based biosensing fundamental and application with nanoparticle, prism, grating, and
wavelength-coupled configurations employing angular, phase, intensity, and wavelength
interrogation.
Furthermore, we will discuss how AI/IoT, applied machine/deep learning, and inverse design techniques are used to optimize nanomaterial, photonic devices, optical image analysis, energy
load forecasting, and precision agriculture. We will learn how the integration of IoT and artificial intelligence is paving the way for smart water, smart agriculture, smart health and smart energy
etc..
To conclude, this talk will highlight fundamentals, case studies and cutting-edge research demonstrating the synergy between these technologies, showcasing their potential to solve
critical problems and improve the quality of life. Attendees will gain insights into the interdisciplinary approaches required to harness the full potential of nanotechnology, AI, IoT, and machine learning in photonics, energy, and biological applications.
