The purpose of the Healing Minds Art Show is to provide a showcase for the works of all mediums of art created by those who live with mental illness, their loved ones, and those in the community who support them. The Healing Minds Art
Show considers art to be sculpture, painting, plays, films, writing, dance, music, fabric, crafts, or any activity or product done by people with a communicative or aesthetic purpose.
NAMI Northwoods believes that by hosting this event we will:
1. Reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness through public awareness.
2. Allow those who may not have the resources to present creations born of
struggle and victory to the public.
3. Educate the general public about the everyday people who live with mental
illness and their families.
4. Ignite advocacy in our community to support mental health initiatives at
the local and county level.
