We invite you to join us in celebrating a significant milestone: the 40th Anniversary of NAMI Northern Illinois. This special event will take place October 9, 2024, from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Rockford Riverfront.
NAMI Northern Illinois was founded in 1984 by families with a common goal—to help loved ones living with mental illness. At the time, there were limited resources, limited understanding of mental illness, and stigma that still prevents individuals from getting help today.
Those families began meeting in their homes, creating a common thread that no one was alone in their journey. From there, NAMI Northern Illinois has grown into a vital community resource, offering free support for individuals and families, education, advocacy, and most importantly, hope to Winnebago, Boone, Stephenson, and Jo Daviess counties.
Nearly a decade ago, we hired our first team member and have since quadrupled our team and quickly outgrown an even newer shared space. With the recent growth of our team, our most pressing goal is to secure a dedicated office space to enhance our services. This space will serve as a hub for our operations, allowing us to become more accessible, create more recovery-oriented opportunities, and provide a central location for partnerships with our stakeholders and community organizations.
The 40th anniversary celebration promises to be a memorable evening highlighting our past, present, future, and the people who helped us get here. We are excited for what the next 40 years hold. To achieve this vision, we need the support of generous partners like you. We can't head back into the '80's without dressing appropriately. We invite you to wear your best 80's attire and we will give prizes accordingly! Don't feel like dressing up, don't worry- it's not mandatory.

7PM: The Past, Present, and Future; Stories of Hope; Award Ceremony
8-9PM: Dancing, Silent Auction, 50/50, Best 80's Attire Winners Announced
