Come and experience the Japanese martial art of naginata (薙刀) in 2026!The naginata is a long bladed polearm that is known for its graceful sweeping cuts, and has historically been associated with the fighting monks and women of nobility in Japan. Today, the tradition is preserved through the practise of paired exercises (kata), while techniques are put to the test in competition and sparring (shiai).
If you are interested in practicing or just trying out this martial art, come give it a try for free at the Aspire Naginata Club on January 21. Just click the "Going" button so we know how much equipment to prepare.
Just pop in wearing comfortable clothes you can move in. No previous martial arts experience required!
