The North American Grappling Association (NAGA) comes to the Foley Event Center in Foley, AL on July 24, 2021. The NAGA U.S. National Grappling Championship is a no-gi and gi (BJJ) grappling tournament with divisions for all skill levels and all ages. Expert division winners are awarded championship belts. Non-expert children and teen division winners are awarded samurai swords. Adult non-expert winners are awarded medals.
TEAMS & AFFILIATIONS
NAGA is asking that all schools make sure their affiliation within the Smoothcomp system is in order. The reasoning for this is that we want to make sure that the team points are accurate without the need for post event auditing. This will allow us to give out the team awards post event once all results are published.
NAGA compiles team results by affiliation. If you do not set up the affiliation your team's points will only go to you not your affiliation. For more information on how to take care of this we have created a document for you that includes links to articles located on the Smoothcomp website that explain the process in detail. Get the document (PDF format) here: http://www.nagafighter.com/pdf/smoothcomp-coaches_handout.pdf. If you have any questions please contact us.
SMOOTHCOMP
NAGA uses Smoothcomp for registration management and for bracketing the event. All competitors will need to register through the Smoothcomp website. If you do not already have a Smoothcomp account, you will be prompted to create one. Parents can create one account and host your children under that account (the same goes for coaches and their students if you choose to do so). Once you are registered, you will be able to view who is enrolled in their group. If there is no one in your group, do not worry, NAGA will work to find you matches.
On tournament day you will be able to monitor the schedule and the estimated start time of your division. Coaches, family, and friends will be able to follow your bracket, all of this in real-time. For instructions on how to use Smoothcomp please visit their support page at support.smoothcomp.com.
Family codes are still available. To get a code you will need to call the office Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM (EST) to get your unique code. If your call is not answered, please leave a voicemail with which tournament you need the code for and the number of competitors. If you register a family without using a code, contact us and we can refund the discount (once verified on our end). Please note this discount is only for immediate family members (brother and sister competing, mother and son competing, father and daughter competing, etc.). Cousins, teammates, etc. do not qualify.

There is a scam where the scammer will post on an event page saying they need to sell their tickets due to (insert tragedy here) and to DM them. We work to delete these as they appear and have contacted Facebook support about this, but please be aware that this is happening.
There is another scam where they say they are streaming the event and provide a malicious link. If we are streaming anything, notification will come directly from our account.
