A singer, rapper, and songwriter who makes his own beats and plays multiple instruments on his tracks, Nadim Azzam is a rising star on the Michigan music scene. Through painfully honest self-reflection, Azzam addresses depression, addiction, and the dysfunctional realities of our times with songs rooted in hope and connectivity. Programmed drums, smooth keys, angular guitars, and lush synth pads combine to create a warm and occasionally surreal sonic environment, with melodic vocal hooks and bars that waste no time getting straight to the point. In 2023, Nadim was voted a Detroit finalist in NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest, won Best Hip-Hop/Rap Video and Audience Choice Award for his music video “The Come Up” at the Michigan Music Video Awards, won a contest hosted by The Kid LAROI, opened for Raheem DeVaughn and Bilal at the Aretha Franklin Amphitheater, and released his album Dreams for the Future, 17 tracks of moody and emotionally resonant hip-hop. Azzam makes music for the deep-thinkers, over-drinkers, and other sensitive souls, in hopes of offering a sense of solace to anyone else facing similar struggles.
