Nadia Alamah (she/they/llama) is an uncertified hooligan who indulges in creative projects because she knew she was never going to last in medical school, law school, engineering school, business school, or school, let alone nudge the idea of being well-adjusted, and because making macaroni art is fun. A mother of cats and crafts (un)alike, this llama is a second-generation Lebanese American who arrived into this existence by crawling out of the Midwestern gothic crow-infested cornfields while shrieking “OPE HABIBI!” to the tornado-streaked skies, shawarma in hand.
This llama has been far too happily squirrel-brained to try her hand at publishing, but when they have done so in the last few years, it was with Pear-Shaped Press, Shuruq 4.5, Libromobile, the Rachel Corrie Foundation and Qua, among others. Self-made publications include “Yalla Habibi: poems in 3arabeezi” and “baladi” out of attempts to patch together the tattered tapestry of her spite-bacon-laced identity.
