loaned a staggering $3.3 billion to the coal industry since the Paris agreement was signed in 2016
loaned a whopping $630 million in coal in the last 6 months alone.

Since November last year, we’ve been talking to NAB staff and taking action at NAB’s branches across the country calling on them to end their toxic relationship with Australia’s largest coal-only company Whitehaven.
And we’ve been met with deafening silence. NAB have refused multiple requests for a meeting with their chief climate officer Jacqui Fox and CEO Ross McEwan.
Now it’s crunch time. Whitehaven coal’s massive loan of $110M is up for renewal by the ‘middle of the year’, and right now NAB executives are deciding whether or not they will continue to fund Whitehaven’s dangerous coal expansion plans.
Together we’ll take powerful action as part of a human chain encircling the Brisbane NAB branch on Queen St, whilst delivering the new report to NAB staff. We’ll make sure NAB staff and customers cannot ignore us, and begin a chain reaction inside NAB in response to the report as the deadline for extending Whitehaven’s dirty loan looms.
