Fort Worth Tarrant County NAACP will host the 47th Annual Dr. George D. Flemmings Memorial Freedom Fund Celebration Friday, October 25, 2024 at 6:45pm at the Fort Worth Convention Center - Ballroom (1301 Houston St. Ft Worth, 76102). This year's theme is - 90 Years: Breaking Barriers and Building Bridges and will feature Major General Anthony Woods, Commander of the Texas State Guard. The Freedom Fund Celebration will feature the organization’s achievements over the past year and how the branch continues to break down social, racial, and economic barriers in the communities we serve. As a non-partisan association, we partner with organizations to provide voter registration and voter education; work with local law enforcement on critical matters affecting our communities; promote education and provide scholarships; advise and make recommendations to groups that represent various sectors of the community including the Arts, Environmental Injustices and Civil Rights. The Fort Worth Tarrant County NAACP has been promoting civil rights and voting rights for all citizens for 90 years in our community. The branch stands steadfast as we continue our efforts to break down social, racial, and economic barriers in the communities we serve. There is much that still needs to be done.
