About this Event
If you know someone who may have a problem with drugs, you may have some questions about Narcotics Anonymous before considering whether to suggest they give NA a try. This event is designed to answer those questions.
Anyone may attend this free event, in person or online. You are welcome to join for individual sessions or the whole event. You can just turn up on the day, however, by booking in-person tickets in advance it will help us to cater for approximate numbers.
The event starts with an opportunity to observe a live NA Open Meeting, followed by a networking buffet lunch with people from a wider range of recovery organisations. "An Introduction to NA" session provides general background about our fellowship. The "Myths & Realities" session compares many of the common misconceptions with the real lived experience of NA members. Finally, the "Spiritual Principles" session outlines how we practice honesty, openmindedness, willingness and other principles to maintain our recovery in NA.
NA is currently referred to in the UK as a Mutual Aid organisation. We are a community of people who support each other to achieve and maintain a drug free life. The only requirement for participation in NA is a desire to stop using. NA is not allied with any religion, institution or other organisation. It costs nothing to be a NA member, you are a member of NA when you say you are. There are no waiting lists for addicts who want to attend an NA meeting - they just need to show up at any group.
