MƒA Thursday Think: How to Unveil the Mathematics That Matters

Teaching goes beyond covering the syllabus and preparing students for standardized tests. One of the best ways to create a classroom environment that fosters student motivation is by rediscovering the joy of learning through playful mathematics. When implemented thoughtfully, play offers a powerful way to challenge students and nurture their cognitive curiosity. In this interactive talk, Australian teacher and YouTuber Eddie Woo will present the pedagogical principles behind a range of activities, providing a low floor, high ceiling, and wide walls approach to encourage mathematical thinking.
