We are partnering with Pacific Birds Habitat Joint Venture and Healthy Climate Communities for a campaign to highlight the ʻalae ʻula or Hawaiian Gallinule, an endangered waterbird unique to Hawaiʻi. There are only around 700 left in the world (on Oʻahu and Kauaʻi). Join us for a volunteer day at Hāmākua Marsh to protect and celebrate the ʻalae ʻula! We will have partner booths to share about their inspiring work and a special ʻalae ʻula oli, as well as a bird tour through the marsh led by Susan Scott.Join us in restoring Hāmākua Marsh’s watershed and supporting a healthy home for the ‘alae ‘ula!

What to bring: Sunscreen, hat, water bottle, snacks
All participants will need to sign a waiver. Minors are welcome but need to be accompanied by an adult. Please sign up using the link below.
