Música Brasileira: Katie G and The Half Maccs

Katie G. & The Half Maccs are back with another fantastic show for the season of Carnaval. You will enjoy the diverse music of Brazil in the traditions of samba, bossa nova, tropicalia and more. These musical styles blend syncopated percussive rhythms and complex melodies, which taps into the joy and nostalgia within each of us and compels us to move along with the beat.
Katie Garonzik spearheads this show with her alto voice, her vocal style perfectly lending itself to the playful and cat-like nuances of Brazilian music. The Half Maccs are true enthusiasts and lifelong students of the samba tradition. Comprised of the areas finest musicians including Camden Hughes on keys, Kevin Littrell on guitar, Grant Green and David Gluck on percussion, Dean Jennings on woodwinds, and Bud Gudmundson on bass. Additional vocal guests this year are Sandy Santa Cruz and Christine Nygard.
This unique performance will feature repertoire from musical greats such as, Sergio Mendes, Rosa Passos, João Bosco, Tom Jobim and more.

With the purchase of a ticket, Sapphire guests are eligible for The Riverside Hotel's "Sapphire Getaway" for $179 + tax. This rate is available for the night of the Sapphire Room show and includes a standard hotel room (double occupancy) and breakfast for two the following morning.
