Daune Sagnol was an Elder in the Campbell Street Uniting Church in Rockhampton in the early 1980s. She took that job very seriously in her pastoral care for people. Daune co-founded the first Lifeline Ministry in Rockhampton. As a young adult most recently shaped in the evangelical tradition, Daune decided it was her job to disciple me not so much away from evangelicalism, as to broaden my Christian understanding and experience.
Rev. Dr. Robert Bos was of Dutch migrant heritage, a Uniting Church minister, who explored ministry, theology, the Christian walk in cross cultural contexts – particularly First Peoples, but also Indian and Melanesian cultures. Robert worked in Aurukun for some time, learning, teaching, and training in ministry leadership; he also served as a teacher leader in lay education in the Uniting Church. A chance invitation to visit the Church of North India’s Amritsar Diocese led to a long relationship with
that diocese, one which he shared with many people, by hosting friendship tours of the diocese, and inviting Diocesan leaders to Queensland.
David Baker is a born and bred Queenslander, brought up in rural and regional Queensland and grew up in the Methodist tradition. After time at Queensland Agricultural College, he spent 10 years working in rural and regional Queensland as a property valuer. He trained for the Uniting Church of Australia (UCA) ministry at the Brisbane College of Theology and then served in the West Moreton region of the UCA in rural and suburban ministry. He values curiosity and wonder ... but thinks they’re undervalued traits in our culture! David currently serves as General Secretary of Queensland Churches Together (QCT), which brings him into contact with a wide range of expressions of Christian faith, and also people of other faiths.
