Step into the world of Mystery Plants & Trees in this calm, nature-inspired art workshop for children who enjoy drawing, colour and imaginative storytelling.
In this Montessori-informed session, children will be invited to observe unusual plant shapes, leaves, branches, bark and patterns from the natural world. Using watercolour pencils, they will explore lines, textures and colour while beginning their own mysterious plant or tree artwork.
The session is inspired by Maria Grujicic’s local picture book, Mystery Plants & Trees: Adventures in the Ludmilla Bushblock, and encourages children to notice the stories, colours and hidden details that can be found in nature.
Children can work at their own level — from simple tracing, line-making and colour exploration through to detailed pattern, imaginative plant forms and storytelling through art.
This is Session 1 of the Mystery Plants & Trees workshop experience. Families may book this session on its own, or pair it with Session 2 at 11:00am for a longer creative morning.
