Course Description
Myofascial Release is an essential practice in the treatment of sacroiliac joint issues. This one-day course will focus on identifying causative factors including pelvic asymmetry, leg length discrepancy, and range of motion limitations. Through both lecture and hands-on instruction, this course will teach students to assess potential causative factors and implement correction and treatment strategies accordingly.
Course Outcomes
Upon completion, students will be able to:
Palpate ASIS, PSIS, and the medial ankle bone
Assess symmetry of the pelvis utilizing the bony landmarks of the ASIS and PSIS
Identify any leg length discrepancy at the medial ankle bone
Assess range of motion in the sacroiliac joint
Determine whether the pubic synthesis is aligned properly
Implement techniques to correct any pelvic asymmetry
Treat the soft tissue that attaches to the sacroiliac joint
