mylittlebrother
mylittlebrother's new single You Know Better is out on May 17th.
Described as “a cross between every laurel canyon band you’ve ever heard, mixed with a healthy helping of acid”, mylittlebrother’s unique mix of 60s pop, rock and garage rock has led to a dedicated fanbase at gigs across the country, and lead to critical acclaim for their 2 albums and their blistering live shows.
Their most recent album Howl, was released in 2020 on L.A’s Big Stir Records to critical acclaim. 2023 was spent writing the follow up, and honing their live sound by gigging all over the country, including a well received national tour in October, joined by Hector Gannet, and album number 3 is well underway.
They have had support from Gideon Coe and Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music, with the latter describing Nosedive as “a worthy contender for record of the week”, and further airplay has come on BBC Radio 1, Amazing Radio and local radio across the UK.
mylittlebrother’s eclectic, hard-to-pin-down style has brought invitations to perform with Frank Turner, Glasvegas and Juniore, and has lead to dozens of festival appearances including headlining stages at Kendal Calling,Wild On The Wall and Haddstock, as well as a joyous main stage appearance at Solfest. They have also appeared on the line-ups at the Sea Power curated Krankenhaus, ButeFest, EskFest, Haddstock and many more.
Zenxith
Daniel McGee aka Zenxith is a 22 year old prolific independent lofi D.I.Y. jangle pop/indie pop/songwriter/musician from Newcastle England, who started making music in early 2022, just writing and recording in his bedroom & he still makes all of his music in the bedroom just using a phone & drum machine/drum loops to record it all, simply D.I.Y. bedroom recordings. Zenxith makes gentle lofi indie pop with jangle melodies & very direct lead lines to accompany the multi tracked exasperated vocals, no band, no studio, all D.I.Y. & solo. Covered in tambourines & slightly influenced by the late 1970s D.I.Y. post punk era & the 80s indie pop era such as the c86 cassette, and the Sarah Records bands, however it is pretty distinctive.
Hellstone Record’s “Zenxith is a diy project of the son of Barse’s former singer and guitarist Andy (the album’s Negative Reaction, They Said It Couldn’t Happen Here… and the Council estate -EP) He’s influenced by early lofi post punk and indie bands and one can hear his dads pop sensibilities there”.
Andrew Burnett from Close Lobsters “Absolutely essential listening”.
Andy Blade from Eater “I hear the TV P's influence...and kinda Jesus & Marychain vox --- I like it, it's cool...I'm very glad to say”
Zenxith’s main inspirations are The Church, Television Personalities, Close Lobsters, The Field Mice, Razorcuts & The Monochrome Set, but it’s mainly Daniel Treacy who inspired him the most to write songs.
Nev Clay
Local legend Nev lives near Newcastle and until 2018 was a mental health nurse. He's been clarting around the local music scene for 30 years, and once supported Keith Emerson out of ELP.
