My Taco, My Choice!

Celebrate Women's History month by joining the Merkado familia for a fun taco competition and culinary event, emcee'd by ABC news anchor and reporter Gloria Rodríguez.

Talented female chefs from SF and the East Bay will participate in a friendly competition featuring their own unique takes on the beloved bona fide US immigrant—the taco!

Chefs will interpret the taco as they see fit, drawing on any cuisine or culinary culture— after all, it’s their taco and their choice!

Your ticket includes a margarita cocktail, a taco from each chef, and the chance to vote for your favorite. The taco with the most guest votes will be named People's Choice!

My Taco, My Choice! will benefit The National Latina Institute for Reproductive Justice. Its Executive Director Lupe M. Rodríguez will join Jessica Kapoor, Chief of Staff at Saison Hospitality, and Marcia Gagliardi, founder of TableHopper, on the judges panel to decide the overall winner.

The People’s Choice taco will be the Chef's Taco featured on Merkado’s Taco Tuesday menu for the rest of March. The overall winner will be the Chef’s Taco highlighted throughout April. A portion of proceeds from Chef's Taco sales will also go to our partner non-profits.
