My Sensory World: Teens Workshop

Is this group for me?

• Do bright lights or background noise feel overwhelming or make it hard to focus in class?
• Is it hard for you to sit still in class for long periods because of the way your body feels?
• Does the taste, smell or texture of certain foods make eating difficult?
• Do you avoid washing your hair or brushing your teeth because the feeling of water or your toothbrush, the smell of shampoo or taste of toothpaste bother you?

We all have different sensory preferences, but for some of us, sensory differences can make it hard to do the things we want and need to do.

If any of the above sounds like you, then we encourage you to join the My Sensory World group. It offers the opportunity to:

• Learn more about sensory processing.
• Engage in group discussions and activities with other young people experiencing similar challenges.
• Set a goal and identifiy strategies.

Important information:

• This group is for children and young people aged 12-18.
• The group is for residents of the London borough of Hackney only. Please do not book a ticket if you do not live in Hackney.
• Depending on the number of bookings and participant ages, the group may be split into two. This could affect the start times of the sessions. If there are any changes, we will inform you in advance to keep you updated.

• Please note that your ticket will be cancelled if you do not answer all mandatory questions at the point of booking or if you do not meet the eligibility criteria.
