This 8-week sketchbook art journal class invites young artists to explore drawing, writing, collage, and mixed media as ways to express themselves and tell their own stories. Guided by award-winning multidisciplinary artist Gentry Leach, students will create a personalized sketchbook that serves as a space for imagination, observation, and reflection. Each week features prompts and activities designed to encourage experimentation, creative mark-making, and visual journaling, while fostering confidence and curiosity. The focus is on process over perfection, helping students develop a meaningful creative practice and see their ideas and experiences as valuable inspiration in a supportive and encouraging environment.
