My Hair is Beautiful's Natural Hair Workshop

That feeling of being nestled between our parents' knees, holding our breath as they declared us too tender-headed. The warm oil massaged on our scalp elevated by the sweet smell of shea butter. The first time we traded washing our hair in kitchen sinks for salons and barber shops filled with ​​the hums of hooded hair dryers and community chatter. Somewhere between jheri curls and the countless YouTube tutorials we’ve watched to figure out our hair porosity, it seems we’ve all shared the same story.

We like to call this curly hair joy.

But we know that between messaging that our hair is “too difficult” or “too hard to learn”, embracing our crowns doesn't always feel like joy — especially when you're young and still learning to love your hair.

That's why My Hair is Beautiful has partnered with HAIRLOKS by ARLETTE to host a hands-on workshop designed to debunk natural hair myths and teach tangible hair care skills to young curly-haired youth.

Participants will walk away with newfound skills, confidence, and community!
