My Dog, My Best Buddy - In Person Class For Kids - May 2026

N OTE: You can bring more than one child; however, please register for each child separately.

Have a child (age 6 to 11) and a dog? Join Wyoming, Ohio (in Cincinnati) alumni Lisa Desatnik, CPDT-KA, FFCP, FDM, CPBC, a certified dog trainer with So Much PETential for an in-person beginner training class for kids. The 75 minute class could be the most important investment in your child’s relationship with your dog.

At My Dog, My Best Buddy, Lisa will teach kids (and their parents) how to be someone their dog will want to listen to and be with. Participants will learn how dogs communicate, how to be a positive dog teacher, and how to be a safe and fun dog playmate.

Certified Therapy Dog Murphy will be Lisa's helper.

While this class is FREE, pre-registration is required and space is limited. If you sign up and can not attend, Lisa asks that you let her know in advance to give room for another child. At least one parent or guardian is required to attend with a child. Please do not bring your dog as Lisa will have a demonstration dog.

About the instructor:

Lisa Desatnik is a certified professional dog trainer, a Fear Free certified trainer, a dog bite prevention educator, and a licensed Family Paws parent educator. She is also a certified parrot behavior consultant. Lisa incorporates kindness, compassion and fun into her training. She offers individualized dog training help for puppy raising, manners, education for kids, and help with behavioral issues. Lisa is the behavior columnist for Hyde Park and Indian Hill Living Magazines.
